Teresa Byrne-Dodge is well known to many Houstonians as a food writer and long-time publisher of My Table ~ Houston’s Dining Magazine. And she continues to keep her hand in the Houston food world. However, she also loves beautiful homes and gardens, and in 2014 she joined her husband Cameron Ansari at Greenwood King Properties.
Together Teresa and Cameron bring their respective skills – his economics training from the London School of Economics, her proficiency with communications and advertising – to the marketing of fine homes in Houston’s best neighborhoods. The support team at Teresa’s publishing company is part of the package, too, producing beautiful sales materials, creating web and display ads, organizing special events in sellers’ homes (or offsite) and, especially, using social media to convey the story of a unique home. The goal: to make the process of home-buying and -selling as enjoyable as possible as well as financially sound.
Teresa specializes in “inside-the-Loop” neighborhoods, particularly River Oaks, Upper Kirby and Montrose. As a Houstonian by choice – she moved here in 1982 from New York City – Teresa has grown to love Houston’s history, food, culture and, yes, even our formidable summer heat.
Older homes and those with architectural significance are her passion. She has renovated several Houston homes and has a clear understanding of what it takes to restore or expand an older home. She has a well-thumbed Rolodex of local contractors, suppliers, inspectors, craftsmen, landscapers, resale shops, custom fabricators and architects.
In addition to graduating summa cum laude from Wichita State University with a degree in literature, Teresa holds a masters degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She is also a master gardener and a certified scuba diver. She and Cameron are members of the Rice Design Alliance, the Asia Society, the Menil Collection, The Printing Museum and Museum of Fine Arts Houston, as well as many professional organizations.
They have three grown children – Taylor, Safa and Sam – and are currently restoring their own 1926 home in Montrose.
