The trip to Rome was ostensibly for a family reunion, but I went to see Bernini in the Galleria Borghese.

While Proserpina struggled with Pluto above, I was focused on the three-headed dog below that propped up the sculpture.

Which made me wonder: Instead of being dragged around Memorial Park by my three best friends, would it be better to have three heads on one dog?

Throw out those nasty choke chains when you could use a single “Gentle Leader” walk harness loosely buckled around the tummy and chest. And imagine the pocket room saved with just one biodegradable pet waste sack (albeit large).

The sensible question might be Isn’t one normal dog enough?

Here are some everyday Roman rovers, photos courtesy of that other three-dog offender Safa Ansari-Bayegan.
